Screening Notes

This is the 5th in the series and Critics absolutely HATE this franchise. On the other hand, audiences LOVE these movies, which is scary. Jackass Forever is like watching 104 minutes of an R-rated version of America’s Funniest Home Videos and Johnny Knoxville and crew have NO filters. The stunts are over-the-top outrageous and turn-your-head-away raunchy. How someone didn’t die or was seriously injured is amazing. [Don’t judge me, but in-between squirming in my seat, I did catch myself laughing pretty hard a few times]

Boxoffice Estimate

Cyrano is a beautiful film that will be Academy Award fodder for Peter Dinklage; my guess is it will open between $2M and $4M. Marry Me (Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson) is a simple, but fun romantic comedy that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day; my guess is it will open between $12M to $14M. Then there is Jackass Forever, which is mindless entertainment with zero redeeming value; my guess is it will open between $24M to $26M ($25.7M is my exact estimate). There is no accounting for individual taste, so depending on your view, this film is either genius or absolute ruin!
