Screening Notes

Spider-Man: Brand New Day recaptures the magic that made the early Avengers films so memorable…the right mix of action, adventure, heartfelt emotion, and sharp, funny banter. The story picks up after the events of No Way Home, where Dr. Strange granted Peter’s request that no one remember him to help save the world…including MJ, which is heart-wretching but adds that human element that keeps the movie grounded.

Tom Holland continues to prove that he IS Spider-Man. He owns the role. Jon Bernthal also brings an entertaining new dimension, weaving his Frank Castle (The Punisher) character into the story…along with some salty language, so be warned.

This film will remind audiences exactly why they love the theatrical experience.

Boxoffice Estimate

The film will hit screens with an NRG Awareness score of 94%, which holds across all age and genre demographics and on par with the last installment back in 2021 which opened to $260M.

This film will be BIG. We were all high-fiving and breaking out the hats and horns with the opening weekends for Toy Story 5 and Odyssey.  Well, if Spidey performs as expected, it will open roughly 60% greater than Toy Story 5 and has the potential to debut at nearly the combined opening of those two films. Internal modeling suggests a $251M opening weekend, with a range between $226M and $276M, landing it close to Now Way Home ($260M) and Infinity War (258M). Strong audience scores and positive word-of-mouth should fuel an excellent post-opening run, leading to an estimated 3.0x multiple and a domestic total between $675M and $825M. That would make it not only the biggest film of the summer, but very likely the biggest film of the year.
